Dessert Plate
The dessert plate is the smaller size plate and will be found in sizes ranging from 6" to 8". Dessert plates are also called luncheon plates by some manufacturers and are now being produced in square and shaped designs. Disposable dessert plates are manufacturered in both pressboard paper and injected or thermo-formed plastic. Dessert plates are popular where finger foods, appetizers, and hoerdourves are served. These festive plates are available in solid colors as well as in almost every pattern so you can accommodate your meal accordingly.
Most commonly you will see dessert plates at wedding receptions, birthday parties, and events where smaller single servings (like cake) are offered. The party may be started with a dinner plate for the main meal, but once desser rolls around, so do these wonderful themed plates.
Luncheon plates generally measure 8" and are a used predominately at luncheons where light, finger food is served. This plate size is primarily found amongst our floral and general entertaining party patterns. While other patterns may include this size it is not common.
