Super Bowl Party Ideas

Setting the Atmosphere

Don't allow a big-screen T.V. and some chips to be the extent of your Super Bowl party preparations this year. Instead, decorate your home so that everyone can get into the game-time spirit as soon as they walk through your door. Even the addition of a few team specific football cutouts can make a huge difference when having people over for a football party. Here are some tips to make any room bring out the sport spirit in every guest during your Super Bowl party.

Any size Super Bowl party can be fun when filled with creativity and unique party decorations. Don't feel limited by a specific decoration or pattern; be creative. Even though big football decorations can make a splash at the party, it is often the small, decorative party accents that make the biggest impact. For example, you can put up a whole bunch of fun football decorations or stick to the basics like some crepe streamers and confetti to create a fun experience for your guests. If you cannot find a pattern that matches your favorite team, you can get stickers for your team and then decorate cups and other generic decorations to make them team-specific.

There is almost a limitless array of options to make your Super Bowl party look great. You can even add giant jointed field goal posts to the wall to add to the fun. In addition to being a decoration, you can turn the goal posts into a game. During commercial breaks you can have field goal kicking competitions. Of course you should use soft toy footballs rather than the real thing, but it can be a fun way to keep commercial breaks from feeling like an eternity. There are tons of other between game activities that you can incorporate into the party to make sure everything stays fun and exciting. We will go into those games later.

In addition to wall based party decorations like cutouts, you can also add some balloons that feature team colors or team designs. There are mylar balloons available that feature team logos and symbols, or you can get a simple bouquet of latex balloons that have your team's colors. You can use any type of balloons and you can allow the balloons to float freely around the room or you can tie them to chairs to go for a more organized, stylish look. Free roaming balloons can look good, but for a party like this you will probably want a few balloons - or sets of balloons - tied at various spots around the room to make the room look great.

Stand out in the Neighborhood

Spread the festivity outside with yard signs and balloons. You can make your home stand out with some football yard signs and, depending on where you live, some balloons. Door banners can also be used on your front door or on the doors within your home so you guests will feel like they are passing into the fan zone when they arrive for your Super Bowl party.

Of course you can add other indoor decorations to the outside of your home like streamers, and other supplies that will be easy to clean up and can be kept in place without a problem.

If you have any ideas be sure to let us know so we can add them here.
