Table Decoration
While table decorations are important for most parties, they are absolutely vital for Thanksgiving get-together's since the majority of the time is spent around the table. Here are some simple party tips to transform any table into a festive showpiece as you celebrate Thanksgiving.
Covering the Table
Start preparing your table for the party with the perfect tablecover. You can use one of the tablecovers that are found in our Fall tableware section, or our very popular Thanksgiving tableware section. If you want to avoid themed tablecovers, which is understandable as Thanksgiving is much more of a social gathering rather than party hardy celebration, you will want to use a solid colored tablecover to cover the table.
After you put the cover down on the table, sprinkle Fall or Thanksgiving confetti on the table for a simple but fun accent. You can also add some colored and shaped confetti to the table to complete the look.
When the confetti is in place, cover the whole table with a clear plastic tablecover that is found in the colored tableware section. Confetti can be so fun, but it is also very frustrating when you have to clean it up for the next 10 to 15 years when you keep finding the pieces in little corners you never knew existed. With the clear tablecover you can eliminate that mess.

You can completely avoid plastic tablecovers if your are preparing for a small family and instead use a real cloth tablecover. Table preparation - in terms of decoration - is not as important in a family meal where there will be food on the table that is being passed around to each person. It can be nice to use a centerpieces, but it may just get in the way. For family meals you will want to use more accent decorations around the room rather than focusing on decorating the table.
