Blowouts
Party blowouts are a staple party item at New Year's and birthday parties. The blowout is constructed of a light weight paper tube lined with a micro thin retractable wire. The tube is connected to a mouth piece through which the party goer blows.
While some mouthpieces produce a squawking sound, others are silent when blown into. When the party goer blows, the effect is a paper tube that extends and retracts. The party blowout is a must have at most birthday parties and is generally a big hit.
New Years parties generally use more squawky blowouts than silent as people like to make a lot of noise as they enter the New Year. Birthday parties go either way, but parents who like to remain sane after the party, generally go with silent blowouts.
There are general colored and styled blowouts, as well as themed blowouts. The themed blowout party supplies may feature a pattern on the blowout itself, or it may have a "medallion" as you see in the picture above, to add a theme to an otherwise plain tube. With this in mind, just because a pattern may be out of stock on a blowout, you could easily purchase regular blowouts and turn them into themed blowouts as a craft at a kids' birthday party.
